What should I do during my lunch break? Check voicemails, make phone calls, catch up on emails. There is always tons for a Boss Chic to do, and no matter how big or small the job, she looks fab while at WERK. Often times we jump into careers that require the woman in the suit to show up, but who said it had to be basic and boring? NOT I said the career woman. This look clocks in at professional and funky. I am absolutely in love with these high waist purplish-blue colored slacks from Eloquii. The color alone screams, NO BUTTON DOWN PLEASE! Immediately I knew anytime there is a funky color you need a funky print. Apparently H&M was on this conference call of my dome. This printed black and white muted kimono added the perfect touch. Some would think it was a bit much with the yellow-olive Steve Madden pump, but a real fashionista knows these were the perfect assistant and secretary to get the job done. The combination of the three were true compliments with subtle color blocking. It’s all in the details right? Well let’s get technical. In this look my pants would be considered the statement piece, because the color grabs your attention immediately. My top are black and white tones, it’s considered achromatic or neutral (not real color), hence there it not a direct conflict. However when placing yellow-olive and purplish-blue right beside each other, they create a complimentary color block. Honey I am ready for success!
TIPS: For all you “Boss Chics” (1) Dare to find unique statements pieces whether it be color or prints (2) Focus on creating around that one piece. (3) Stay away from safe colors such as black, brown, and white. This will force you to style yourself outside the box. (4) The rule is one solid and one print. The rest will handle itself. You are #noprisonerofyourbody so you walked the runway fiercely and fearlessly. See you next runway!!!
