The Dialogue

The Dialogue   Him: You’re so pretty but I’ve never talked to a big girl before. Me: I’m sorry did you think this was your opportunity?   “What in the heck is he doing?” “Girl, this his third time circling this counter.”  My coworker Justine spotted dude last week checking me out. Working for MAC, we often got creepers who shopped through pretty girls like meat. I swear men were worse than our customers. Customers would literally scan our faces as they approached the counter. Now, when you’re well into your 8th year as an artist, you become a master at predicting their thoughts because their body language tells every time- it’s hilarious but weird as hell. It’s like they used some type of laser alert radar...

The Black Women’s Expo: Beauty, Branding, & Blogging

I wasn't the perfect panelist for The Black Women's Expo.. so I thought. When I was asked to join the panel for such a huge event I gave the side eye. Then to make it even more troubling, the focused topic was blogging & how to make it a successful business( oh lawd). I struggled with whether or not I qualified for this  topic at this time. Blogging and success did not quite calibrate on my scale as equal parts. Calculating how much I’ve invested versus how much I’ve profited seem to be more reason why I should not speak. Blogging is a difficult and time consuming job, even more so when you’re turning a passion into a business. My...

The intent of this article is to encourage anyone who reads it, to no longer look at a lack of confidence as a surface and basic personality flaw, but to acknowledge its power & the detriment it bears on the soul. How To Mix Prints Like A Pro!

Today's post is not exactly about how amazing I look in this outfit or even where I wore it to impress. I'll save you those details. Instead, I want to teach you the logic behind mixing prints. Hopefully, this will make your life a little easier and your print mixing fashionably approved. Print mixing falls on a continuum of "FABBED IT" or "TRIED IT" scale. Follow these steps to "FAB IT." Before we jump into the steps, first comprehend my analogical approach. The best way to get you to see print, is to relate it to volume. I know-crazy, right? Trust me. I'm going to break volume up into three sounds: loud, medium, and low. Now let's get into it. A....

Big Boobs, Beautiful Bras

Ladies! It’s an absolute pleasure to have you visit my blog. There are tons for us to discuss regarding these big breast that proceed us fashionably and sexually. Before we start digging into the cups of our chi chi’s, I must share, this is my first discussion blog post. I was reluctant to publish this post because this is the first of many discussions that expose my personality and opinions to the world. Considering, I can be a strong character at times, this determines how I prepare myself for both positive and negative feedback. I am proud to say preparation is complete lol. I’m often told, I say what others or most are thinking. During the last couple of years...

Turning his Head, Seven Ways to get Any Man You Want

I use to hate when I would run across a meme that some guy has posted with a beautiful plus size model in lingerie and the question proposed was “Men would you date a big girl?” What?! What type of question is this? Who ask these types of questions?! I could not validate this shallow thinking. Then it came to me everyone has heard of the pseudo-scientific, societal cliché that men are visual creatures. What he sees is what drives his stimuli. Without further researching the raw fact of this stigma, I ask that you pardon my ignorance, but I must admit, I am running with this cliché. I believe plus size women deal with the misconception, if you are...

Restoring Self Love after Marriage

As a child I remember playing this game called, “House.” Of course, I was the mama. I had two or three children and an awesome husband. I imagined my make believe home was facilitated in the confines of my bedroom, which was shared with my sisters. In this home of my mine, I would cook, clean, and await for my absolutely flawless husband to arrive from work. My imagination comprised a vivid imagery of this tall, hardworking, serious (In retrospect sexy) clean cut, cool man. My emotions channeled the love he had for his children and most importantly, his infinite love for me, no matter what. He would kiss me, stand close when he wanted to whisper something sweet in...
