May not be CoCo, but its definitely Shenell

The title speaks for itself, this look is so me! I just marvel over a poised, classic, with a hint of edge outfit. What I like most about this look is, it hits in all the right places. Can you say EVERYTHING!!! This H&M jacket is giving it to the people. It sets the theme for vintage style. The texture, colors and print just jumps at you and takes your attention. To tell the truth (whispers), I kinda feared styling this the “RIGHT WAY.” Because it’s so busy I didn’t want to do too much and I surely wasn’t interested in being safe. So what did I do? I had to continue telling the story the jacket was telling. Then there was a pencil skirt, THE END. LET’S GET TECHNICAL: I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, a pencil skirt is crowned queen of classic and sexy-ask any FLAPPER. The baggy top and fitted bottom delivers a dominate (jacket) and recessive (skirt) visual. Baggy + fitted = balance. It really shows how opposites attract. This is why this look works. Considering blue is popping all over the place, I decided to add a little more. My baby blue boxed chained purse and super flashy baby blue and nude pumps really completed this story.

Tips: Pencil Skirts are for all shapes….

  1. Apple, rectangle, banana, & inverted triangle (slimmer hips and larger mid area or shoulder area) pair pencil skirt with baggy crop top or long button down-belted (mid-wide or large). It slims the waist.
  2. Hourglass, Figure Eight, & Triangle (wider hips, large or small mid area, and bust). Pair a fitted T, blouse or a tank top.  A thin or mid wide belt would complement your figure even more.

See you next runway!!
