Modern Romanticism

"When you're fluid & solid at the same dang time! Scientifically; My matter changes with the environment Divinely; I'm indestructible!" -Shenell   Girl! I know I’m always claiming a look is by far by fave, but this time I’m for real! I finally styled my Fia Factory top as my heart desired. It’s a beautiful seasonal piece and full of character, so I wanted to fashionably take it to a place that was most fitting.  After contemplating, I knew it needed layering to accomplish a chic and even foreign appeal, besides I did purchase it from Lagos, Nigeria honey. Most recently, I wore this look to a birthday party exactly as I had imagined it. From the time I walked in, to the time I left,...

Proceed with Caution, Industrial Fashion Ahead!

As we cautiously veer into the left lane, lets take a moment to think. What has fashion come to? Utility wear is definitely going from hard at work to blazing the runway. Who would have thought road work inspired wear would continue to evolve as it has. I bought this Off-White belt in March of this year. I took me a while to figure out how I wanted to handle it so to speak. Jeans were an option, a pant suit, and of course leather, but I was trapped somewhere between faux fur and tulle. Mixing hard and soft intrigued my fashion curiosity, so I did it! Wide and fluffy tulle would swallow the belt. Pairing this BCBG skirt with...

The Black Women’s Expo: Beauty, Branding, & Blogging

I wasn't the perfect panelist for The Black Women's Expo.. so I thought. When I was asked to join the panel for such a huge event I gave the side eye. Then to make it even more troubling, the focused topic was blogging & how to make it a successful business( oh lawd). I struggled with whether or not I qualified for this  topic at this time. Blogging and success did not quite calibrate on my scale as equal parts. Calculating how much I’ve invested versus how much I’ve profited seem to be more reason why I should not speak. Blogging is a difficult and time consuming job, even more so when you’re turning a passion into a business. My...

Latte- Extra Foam

Spring apparently don't mess with us like that anymore. According to Instagram, I wasn't the only one surprised to see snow in the forecast. It was a bother, but let's just call me an opportunist in this instance. After attempting to throw a temper tantrum about the weather, a light bulb went off over my head and I turned that frown into a smile. I was so giddy to wear my scarf and boots (Click Here) . Open toe boots are such a problem for me in harsh winter and it was looking unfavorable to wear this look with my Zara scarf I bought in late November, so the opportunity presented itself once again. The look was all about fluffy layers...

Atomic Color Blocking

Atomic Blonde portrays an elite spy who has a killer punch and a dangerous wardrobe, that consist of black and white color blocking and a pair of red Christian Dior pumps, (which she uses to kill her adversary) for the perfect juxtaposition. In my mind she would totally have worn this dress. Since she wasn't able to, I took it off her hands and channeled my Atomic Blonde - okay okay- I'm a ginger blonde. Neva-the less, I felt so posh in this dress. I wanted to be sure I translated posh with much clarity when I styled this look. My first thought, I knew I needed to pull out my ever so lavish BCBG shoes. These shoes simply allowed...

Winter Pastels

Hey Girl, hey! So, I have such a love for cold colors in the late Fall and Winter seasons. When beige, creams, and off whites accompany an outfit with light hues of pastels, as a pop of color, it gives me chills. It puts me in the mind frame of mint refreshers. Let’s just say, if WinterFresh had an outfit, this would so be it! What you think? Well other than looking like minty breath, this look was truly a no brainer. Eloquii did me well when they dropped this high-waist fringe skirt in my view. This is nothing but a vintage piece, just made in modern times. Which makes this skirt as timeless as the first rendition of its...

Versatility

Yes, you seen it a million times, but leave it to me I will have you thinking you have never seen it before! Once again, we have a another Christian Omeshun exclusive. Gosh, one thing I love most about this garment is how seasonal it is. The fabric is protective enough for a very bitter Winter and light enough for Spring. When I got the garment, I fell in love with the construct of it. The asymmetrical top is giving me mysterious and sexy. Arm out, peeka-booing the belly, and topped with a hint of back out, what else can a girl want to make her happy and set her free?! NOTHING!  An asymmetrical cape…..REALLY! I must admit I felt...

Blacker the Berry the Sweeter the Juice

Happy Valentine's Day!!! Can you believe its Val day already?! I know I'm stunned and I feel even more stunning in my all black ensemble.  Last year I was all about pink and florals, with the perfect touch of red. The concept was all cute and dainty but the mood this year is all about being sexy and mysterious, black is giving me all that! Ladies, black is the anointed color for any silhouette. It glides along every curve with ease and sensuality. Black is definitely the man catcher no doubt, which brings me to this uber cute piece. Now you know I had to show a hint of skin for that extra flirtation. Gitionline had me in love at...

Fashioned Perfection

Don't you just love when you don't have to work as hard to make something GREAT! Let me tell you hunny this freaking sexy as ever little number was already a styled masterpiece. This outfit spoke just as clear as day "Shenell, add a nude shoe and walk" I did just that. This Rachel Roy two piece garment was designed to fashion perfection. The lines are super chic and it demands all the attention. Please don't act like you don't see the splits on the sides of this top, driving the eyes straight to the curves in my hips. What I love about Rachel Roy is, she's gonna add a pinch of feminine drama. The craftsmanship is ridiculous with this chopped-asymmetrical side tail. If...
