I know you’ve seen several of my post on Instagram lately. Yes, I am a few blog posts behind; no worries, I am making up for it right now!
About this look; if someone were to ask me what my style is, I would put this very look on display. Girl, it helps me not have to use words to describe myself. In this look, I played with texture, patterns, and color. This look is luxuriously distinct-exactly how I prefer to be! I’m looking really iconic in tweed if I can say so myself! Now, is it me or does this outfit take you to Harlem, anywhere between 1940s-2021? It definitely takes me there!
If you were to break this ensemble down to its intricacy, you’ll find a sprinkle of each fashion era mentioned above. Can we say, modern-day vintage? The type of faux fur resting on my shoulders is a classic exaggerated piece-groomed wildly- 40’s star-like. The tweed blazer is 50’s Chanel- rich, tailored, and trimmed in gold. Of course, it’s not the little black jacket, but it’s green-close enough. The beret is Frenchy-posh and militant. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon or ever! The leather that’s flowing from my fingertips to my shorts is a striking vibe of 70’s Black Panther, fearless by nature. My zigzag pattern stockings that lead you to my “No place like home” red bottoms are reminding you that this is 2021.
Typically, when dressed like this, I’m headed to the office, a posh brunch, dinner with hubby or a book signing; I’m doing the signing, pen please! Honestly, you wear this look wherever your personality can carry it. Trust, you won’t go unnoticed.
- Play with furs that are detachable. Place them on other garments for a little jishh!
- Play up any plain look with pattern stockings, it adds character to you and the ensemble.
- In the Spring, wear the heck out of trenches and shorts.
Click here for style deets! Tweed is really popular this season, I’ve linked various tweed options for your shopping pleasure.
I’m wearing Christian Louboutin’s Cadrilla Corazon pump, which is currently sold out however, I’ve linked a similar pair here.
