To style this look was crazy for me. What many of you don’t know is, I struggle with putting together casual pieces and still feel trendy. In my personal life, dresses and stilettos make me feel like the best me as a blogger. I typically don’t allow myself too much casual freedom (a natural challenge). There was a particular day Chicago’s weather had me feeling real free and out of my comfort zone. These feelings came at the perfect time, because it summoned me to tap into my Bohemian style sense. Considering I have shackled myself fashionably to dresses, slacks, and stilettos, I wanted this look to convey freedom and anti-conventionalism. I said Shenell, “Dare to break your fashion norms”. The Bohemian trend for this city gal was more than what I needed to free me from my shackles. This style is artistic, free-spirited, and informal just as I wanted. My Forever XXI olive green high-waist pant was a great beginning for this look. The unique appeal about this look is, the colors are rather earthly with colorful moments, thanks to my jeweled Aldo cross body and brick colored Jessica Simpson wooden platforms. While this Bohemian traveled to the city, I took great notice to there wasn’t much contrast between socialism and style. The Bohemian vagabond lifestyle from the 19th century has morphed into fashion trends of the 21 century. Never-the-less, however its represented the form (lifestyle or fashion trend) is still artistic, carefree, colorful, mysterious, and organic.
Bohemian Tips:
1. Allow your skin to exude a naked glow and a fresh mist.
2. Basque in the freedom of flowy bottoms.
3. Earthy and color prints are a must (Make it effortless).
4. A long scarf around your waist or head piece coins you Bohemian.
5. In this look, enjoy freedom it’s rewarding.
