Brim Meets the Neck

So, this look is fairly basic. There are no abstract prints, rocking fringe or over accessorized novelties. What makes this look a magnet of interest is the analogous color pallet (colors directly beside each other on the color wheel. In this case mine are blue, purple and fuchsia), extremely chic frame work and how the brim meets the hat. Now, lets talk mysterious, shall we? Often times people feel one must have all the bells and whistles to emerge mystic. If that is you, allow me to redirect your thinking. Structure and fabric exaggerations are chosen’s as it relates to a more discrete description of mysterious. Alexander McQueen mastered this art. In the beginning of his career his textiles were extremely...

Curvy Wakanda

Although this look does not echo through the lands as African and neither does it mapquest me to my long-lost tribe, you can not deny its glory or boldness, like the people of the safari and my long-lost tribe. This ensemble screams black (in every form of its meaning), regal, profound, powerful and rich. It was the perfect fit for my welcoming to Wakanda. So, I decided to pay homage to histories first, all-black Marvel, with a curvy slayish dinner and movie meet & greet. I wanted to hone in on and captivate a rare experience. Undeniably, Black Panther, was a long overdue production- not just for the diaspora, but for the world. February 16th Black Panther made history to...

Glammed Varsity Mascot

About this look. It felt really good going back to having feelings of high school days. This was the look you wear on game day at your 10-year class reunion. All sparkly, and classy, and varsity like, okay? Other than that, I wasn’t so happy with this look. I should have warned you, a moment of honesty was coming. Yes, this is my least favorite look. I liked it in real life, I'm  not a fan of how it delivered in pictures. In addition, I have lost some weight and all of my pieces were too big. Other than the blue here, I was feeling pretty darn blue as well. Oh, another rant, I should have done my part in...

Classic Picasso

Need I explain this look?! If you guys haven’t already discovered, I love old vintage style. I am giving you all the French, vintage, and Picasso vibes wearing my Eloquii top and beret. This top has all the character you need in this look. I actually fell in love with this top, while styling someone else in it. She opt not to buy it, but I was definitely in swipe mode after she took it off. What’s that old saying, “Someone else's trash, is anothers treasure?” She wasn’t exactly throwing it away, but I definitely hit a gold mine. This top is so flexible, what can’t you wear with it?! I decided on these super stretchy stirrup leggings, for the...

Winter Pastels

Hey Girl, hey! So, I have such a love for cold colors in the late Fall and Winter seasons. When beige, creams, and off whites accompany an outfit with light hues of pastels, as a pop of color, it gives me chills. It puts me in the mind frame of mint refreshers. Let’s just say, if WinterFresh had an outfit, this would so be it! What you think? Well other than looking like minty breath, this look was truly a no brainer. Eloquii did me well when they dropped this high-waist fringe skirt in my view. This is nothing but a vintage piece, just made in modern times. Which makes this skirt as timeless as the first rendition of its...

The Premme Factor

Ok, I had a blast wearing this Premme look. It was hard for me to grasp what type of look this was, until I envisioned myself in Brooklyn passing through a crowd of bell bottom wearing and afro picking creatives. Since my initial thought was 70’s, my vision confirmed it. I am digging the funk of this groovy get up! Ya see, even using slang vernacular, got me feeling even more boogie about this outfit representing the 70’s era of fashion. I’ll roll with it. So, in my mind, my home-girl Foxy Brown flew in to see her bestie-me! When we’re together, it’s time to create some Good Times- the black Thelma and Louise honey! What is fun without a...

Forbidden Fruit

Dressed like this, I feel  I have beamed from the confines of my 1800's Victorian home and landed in America, specifically Chicago. The look is so vintage and very old world British, which wasn't intentional, (ig's @joannethescammer voice) honestly, truly. Perhaps my unexpected embark on the Victorian era style sense, bares all the proof that Target is becoming more and more classic within their design layouts. Target's fall fashion naturally takes us back in time, with a modern twist. I say encore! To be completely frank with you, I knew I liked this snake print blouse and faux skirt together, but after styling it, "Like" was an understatement. I am in fashion love! Considering I decided to coordinate the same...
