Class Act

To take a picture is one thing, but when your pictures tell a story, its whole different concept. Well I hope these pictures tell my love for the 1940s-1960s era. That era was prim and proper, lady like, sexy, and fun. Those adjectives are exactly what I saw in the asymmetrical Rachel Roy dress. Once again Rachel spoils us with details. Short in the back, long angled front, with a point aimed to fashionably kill. The print is stark and mysterious with such warm tones, perfect for Fall. This cutie is all about flexibility. I love when a dress gives you dress up or down options. Speaking of flexibility the fit is so relaxed and easy. The jersey cotton material...

Chi in Brooklyn

First of all you already know I am a Chicagoan from the core of my heart. Ain't no city like my city, I'm just sayin ya heard hahaha. However, I can't deny I make Brooklyn look real good in this hella dope super chic-fem tee. I'm sure Rachel Roy agrees. Keeping my street chic trend live, wasn't that hard, but the challenge was to be clever about it. I wasn't interested in dressing my tee down, just not the #mood, but when I spotted this Rachel Roy woven fitted skirt, I knew I'd be nothing shy of Dougie Fresh. I'd like to think, if girls had a hood of our own, chicks would be dressed just like this, what you...

Fabulous Gracia

That moment you know fabulous when you see it. I'd have to say this was one of my moments! The drama Akira is giving with this Gracia top is freaking amazing. Crop top and bat sleeves =genius. I simply love how the crop in the front drives the eye straight to the elongation of the blouse. The distinction is remarkable. Any blouse that catches a daze from on lookers who are inwardly wondering where did she get her top, is a must have. What can I say, its a statement piece that evolves with trend. Honestly, I wasn't exactly sure how I needed to style this girlie- jeans-no, shorts-not quite, then there was Rachel Roy. Rachel Roy's Aztec pencil skirt...

Blossoming Floral

This Christian Omeshun floral maxi is blossoming all over the place! This dress is different from my fashion norm, but I couldn't resist how freaking adorable and flirty is it. I can not express how refreshed, feminine, and happy this dress made me feel. Let's talk about the style of this maxi. I love the exposure of a woman's décolletage, it's simply beautiful and with the fit bands in the shoulders of this dress, my décolletage and shoulders were peaking all day. These flirty shoulders are just an additive to this doll. Compliments to Christian Omeshun, she had me channeling my inner life size Barbie persona. This floral maxi is long, fun, breezy, and full of color, I felt like Summer in...

The Jumpy

Didn't I tell you that I'm trying to be more casual and simple, here's another look (refer to Bohemian in the City). What makes this casual? I didn't over accessorize I stuck with these hooped Curve Culture earrings and I let the jumpsuit be the jumpsuit. Aren't your eyes drawn to what I'm wearing? Let's bring more focus to this cute little number. This ASOS jumpsuit was super fun! I have to admit it has a Bozo bagginess to it, but trust there's nothing goofy or circusy about it. Believe it or not it has so much versatility, you can actually wear this with a cute pair of Keds, flats, or heels. Now, you know me because I have the hardest...

Fashioned Perfection

Don't you just love when you don't have to work as hard to make something GREAT! Let me tell you hunny this freaking sexy as ever little number was already a styled masterpiece. This outfit spoke just as clear as day "Shenell, add a nude shoe and walk" I did just that. This Rachel Roy two piece garment was designed to fashion perfection. The lines are super chic and it demands all the attention. Please don't act like you don't see the splits on the sides of this top, driving the eyes straight to the curves in my hips. What I love about Rachel Roy is, she's gonna add a pinch of feminine drama. The craftsmanship is ridiculous with this chopped-asymmetrical side tail. If...

FIA Bat Dress

OMG is exactly what I said when I saw this dress! I pride myself on finding things for you guys that are different and unique, FIA was just that. The bat pattern was one of the most genius attractions to this dress, the pattern is so themed- Halloweenish yet it managed to maintain its softness, girly appeal, and it was far from scary. I think it has EVERYthing to do with the style of the dress. The long exaggerated bell sleeve and short, wide, prissy fit of the pattern remained a beauty with the beast. Now can we talk about these African printed pockets… The pockets represent the culture and destination of FIA. Yes the dress is from the motherland...

Now let’s put something into perspective, Claire is a fashionista anointed by the fashion gods honey. So me being Shenell, I was definitely on make an impression- kill em mode. Bohemian In The City

To style this look was crazy for me. What many of you don’t know is, I struggle with putting together casual pieces and still feel trendy. In my personal life, dresses and stilettos make me feel like the best me as a blogger. I typically don’t allow myself too much casual freedom (a natural challenge). There was a particular day Chicago’s weather had me feeling real free and out of my comfort zone. These feelings came at the perfect time, because it summoned me to tap into my Bohemian style sense. Considering I have shackled myself fashionably to dresses, slacks, and stilettos, I wanted this look to convey freedom and anti-conventionalism. I said Shenell, “Dare to break your fashion...
