Forbidden Fruit

Dressed like this, I feel  I have beamed from the confines of my 1800's Victorian home and landed in America, specifically Chicago. The look is so vintage and very old world British, which wasn't intentional, (ig's @joannethescammer voice) honestly, truly. Perhaps my unexpected embark on the Victorian era style sense, bares all the proof that Target is becoming more and more classic within their design layouts. Target's fall fashion naturally takes us back in time, with a modern twist. I say encore! A New Day with Gucci

I was devastated when I read Merona and Mossimo would no longer be a brand name for Target. I just knew the Victoria Beckham collection was the last collection I’d purchase. After being introduced to Target's new designers, I’m glad to say my devastation was yesterday’s news and cheers to “A New Day”. Target has done a great job up-ing the fashion racks with their new designer brand, A New Day. The collection launched August 27th and I’m far from disappointed. I have to admit the collection is definitely tailored to prim and proper, framed with a high end appeal and enhanced with details like never before. Crossing the Vest

Christian Siriano completely gets the body of a plus size gem. Shopping the Christian Siriano for Lane Bryant collection pulled me into a world of luxury, just what a girl like me looks for. The collection was nothing shy of Julia Roberts, Pretty Woman and Jackie O. The garments were definitely role catchers.  I swear as soon as I tried them on I instantly turned into another persona- Shenell, who? Call me She-neilah lol. Okay I admit I love when people give me that confused who she think she is look, which I got a lot of in my royal blue faux fur vest. Smh, I marvel at the fierceness of this vest, look how daring and demanding it is....

Pleated Prints

This is all about a little bit of extra being just enough, its taking a strut into classic fun. For those who know me, you know I’m about edge and classic with a hint of unpredictable, I’d have to say this is one of those moments. I wanted to have fun by mixing the patterns of crosses and cheetah print together (would that have been considered a blood sacrifice in biblical times lol). Mixing dominate prints together is an automatic attention catcher. The key to pattern blending is to compliment, not necessarily to flow. This concept typically yields fashion acceptance hence its questionable at first sight. Be wise about pattern choices in order to induce a retrospective positive response at...
