It’s My Blogiversary; Dress it, Boot it, Strut It!

I think I hear Tony Toni Tone’ serenading me….. It’s your blogiversary…. blogiversarrrry. OMG, the time the time. It’s been 4 years, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing my world with you. I can’t thank you enough for being so supportive. I have an abundance of gratitude for every picture you’ve liked, every follower you’ve sent, every comment you’ve written- Thank You! Each and everyone of you are amazing and I am grateful that you’re apart of my journey, love you much. As a blogger I’ve grown so much. I ‘ve watched myself become more and more consistent and diligent. This has been a slow, but amazing journey. This year I was published in 4 magazines, two were print, currently averaging over 300 likes per picture and finally reaching over 6,600 followers on Instagram alone. I spoke on a panel at the B.W.E., featured on 3 digital screens throughout Chicago and made a few guest appearances. In addition to all of that, I’ve had two successful meet and greets and I am the face and brand ambassador for a holistic/organic skincare line in Whole Foods (coming soon). God is doing just awesome, I think. I guess there’s nothing to do, but look up and expect an even fuller cup for the rest of this year. Remember, you are no prisoner of your body so strut the runway fiercely and fearlessly. See you next runway!

This year I’m more excited about the upcoming collaboration I’m spearheading and all of the spring/summer pieces I’m super geeked to post. I’m all about off the shoulders and crazy brights. All I can say is, I’m in total pursuit and every move is intentional. I hope you like this look, I call it Dress it! Boot it! Strut, it! I fell in love with this spring trench when I strolled across it in my email from Premme. Once I received it, I immediately fell in love with the pop of color- I couldn’t get enough of it, so I did what I do best- made it my own. The first thing I did was unseamed the wrist buckles to wear them interchangeably. The breast flap, I pinned back for that added pop of color. To think, I still needed more pop, so I flipped the belt and made it do what it do. After intentionally misbuttoning my trench to render a high-low affect and dropped shoulder, I rolled one sleeve quarter length and left the other extended. Placing the wrist belts directly on top of each sleeve gave me all the drama fixings I needed. Aldo hand me those purple boots and Gucci come on, we’re out!
